Hopeless Nostalgic *
My photographic practice bridges the folk art aesthetic of my childhood in the natural landscapes of California, with the bold visual culture of late 20th century America. Working primarily with analog processes, I'm drawn to the materiality and alchemy of film…the way light transforms into lasting memory through chemistry and craft.
I approach photography as an act of documentation, preferring to capture authentic moments rather than construct scenes. My work focuses on community and connection, particularly stories of people making the world a more beautiful, kinder, and better place. Having found my way to photography later in life, I understand the medium as both a personal practice and a tool for illuminating the quiet acts of goodness.
